Client: Ajuntament de Mediona
The main objective was to develop a study of the municipality of Mediona to prepare a Strategic Urban Plan with a gender perspective focused on its rural settlements and dispersed housing developments.
Col·lectiu Punt 6 had previously carried out the study of the Sant Joan de Mediona settlement under the Catalan Neighbourhood Improvement Law. With this new commission, the City Council aimed to expand the feminist urban planning approach to the entire municipality, with the goal of having a proactive diagnostic tool to identify plans and actions in a coherent and strategic manner, addressing territorial diversity and improving everyday life.
To achieve this, we developed a preliminary study of the social and territorial situation, allowing us to describe the particular conditions of each settlement and housing development, as well as a participatory diagnosis through workshops involving people from all areas of the municipality.
As a final result, we produced the Strategic Urban Plan tool with a gender perspective, structured into a set of actions organised across three areas:
- Everyday and nearby structure – Settlements for living
- Mobility systems – Everyday and sustainable mobility
- Ecological and healthy structure – Interaction with the territory
This study has provided the local government with a set of plans and actions that serve as a guide and roadmap for the coming years.
