This project consisted of creating a map of the existing care services and resources in Cardedeu, accompanied by an analysis and description of the municipality’s physical and urban conditions with the objective to highlight the dynamics that shape the daily practice of care in the territory, in order to contribute to improved urban planning and coordination of these resources.
The mapping was part of La Ciutat Invisible’s project Cardedeu, Caring Town, an initiative that seeks to promote a town model focused on care, community, and people’s well-being. La Ciutat Invisible commissioned us to collaborate by incorporating a territorial dimension into the services and resources linked to care, responding to both the material and immaterial needs derived from the management and provision of care in a caring city — a concept coined in 2015 by Col·lectiu Punt 6.
Within this framework, the importance of integrating the urban dimension into care becomes evident, offering a territorial perspective that helps to understand how care services are organized and distributed in urban space, and what physical characteristics either facilitate or hinder their development.
