This project arose from the need to define the uses and management of the community space in El Paller (former barn) at Can Bofill. Coop57 and Can Bofill had been working to transform El Paller into a space for community engagement and support for the Social and Solidarity Economy, while also preserving the agricultural function of the estate and the Collserola Natural Park.
The aim of the project was to define, through a participatory diagnosis, the social uses and characteristics of the future space, as well as its management. The process involved the residents of Can Bofill, the La Tartana housing project, people engaged in shepherding, and Coop57.
Through participatory methodologies, experiences and needs were gathered to identify potential uses and define values, operational criteria, and key stakeholders for its management. The outcome was a shared proposal that laid the groundwork for a new community space, with a user manual and agreed-upon values, strengthening the local social fabric and sustainability.
