This project, commissioned by BORNLAB, the community mediation program of the El Born Centre for Culture and Memory (CCM Born), aimed to explore and describe the opportunities offered by the Castellví Hall, both in its role as part of the cultural facility and in its relationship with the neighborhood, responding to the need to define such facilities from a community-based perspective with an intersectional gender approach.

To carry out the diagnosis, participant observation was conducted during two scheduled activities at the space: a book presentation and a family activity held across different settings. Additionally, three interviews were conducted with individuals involved in the hall’s management, operation, and programming.

The results of the diagnosis were organized into three main areas of analysis: how the facility related to neighborhood life, the conditions under which it connected with its immediate surroundings and the internal dynamics of the building, and finally, the physical and social conditions offered by the room to facilitate activities related to the everyday life of the community.
